Let’s have a national debate on bigotry, prejudice, and racism.  President Barack Obama opened the door for this debate during his evening press conference, Wednesday, July 22, 2009, by choosing to interject his opinion, without having all the details, on the African American Harvard professor’s cry of racism against a Massachusetts Caucasian police officer. 

I don’t have all the facts either so I’m not going to state my opinion, but I will tell you what I think. (As a side note read, “The Courtesy Kick,” on blog.northloopcottage.com for a more humorist view of police actions.)

I believe there is a movement within our government at the highest levels that wants African Americans to continually be marginalized into a voting block that will vote the platform of social change — A change that will lead to socialism and then to a one-world government.  The same could be said of network news organizations that promote racial division by their reporting style of sensationalism, lies and innuendo.

Once America merges with the rest of the world into a one-world government, many African Americans will continue to be relegated to a “back of the bus status” as viewed by the average American if they continue to hold their current bigoted beliefs. 

Let’s stop with the labels.  We are all God’s children.  The color of ones skin is not important.  We are all the same!  We cannot allow “the elite intellectuals” to polarize America into groups so that they can gain control and change our system of government.  We must stop this foolishness.

I have traveled to many places, and it seems to me that a significant number of African Americans are ashamed of the color of their skin.  Being black and being proud of it is the norm in the rest of the world but not so in the United States.  Why is this?  Black is beautiful.

As long as a minority of African Americans hold on to a slave mentality and rally behind criminal behavior when perpetrated by “criminals of color” and continue to cry out racism, African Americans will continue to be grouped together as a whole rather than as individuals.  They will never be fully integrated into the American culture if the “blame game” is continually played.

Yes, there are a disproportionate number of African American men in our prison system, unemployed, uneducated, on drugs and with no family connections.  However, many would say they are where they are in life because they chose that life style, not because there was racism.  People are responsible for, and must be held accountable for, their own actions.

African Americans who use racism as a crutch should stop.  There are so many great African American companies and individuals who do not see themselves as victims and are living the American dream.  There are many others that could if they would drop the blinders and use their intellect and initiative instead. There is just no excuse for anyone with an attitude of “you owe me.” 

There is another side of bigotry on the part of many African Americans. An African American arrogance demanding prejudicial treatment and a “my right to be discourteous mentality” that is predominantly exhibited by a young African American workforce.  Maybe if God was still in America’s schools and institutions we could all be brothers and treat one another with love and respect.

The Jews were slaves in Egypt for hundreds of years and have been persecuted in all societies because they were “Jews.”  They continue to rise above name-calling and bigotry, and the result is their heritage is strong and thriving.  They don’t refer to themselves as Jewish Americans but simply as Americans.  People of color who live in the United States of America should do the same.

Am I in denial and refusing to recognize racism in America? No, bigotry, prejudice, and racism were in the past, are present now and will be in the future.  The only changing face of racism is in its degree.  If we discontinued emphasizing the color of one’s skin and thought of ourselves as Americans rather than racial groups we would become a better country.

It is up to every individual to speak up and condemn hatred of any kind. Take a moment and look deep within your soul.  Do you condone either by your actions or in-actions bigotry, prejudice or racism?  I do not and I do not believe the vast majority of people do either.

As long as many African Americans see every police arrest or any negative social interaction through a prism of racism there will always be a divide.  African Americans in positions of influence should be speaking up and demanding from African Americans that are not living the dream to take responsibility for their lives and to take actions that will clean up: intercity breeding grounds of illiteracy with failing school systems; criminal activities of prostitution, drug and alcohol abuse; political corruption and favoritism; broken families and family values; welfare; and poverty. 

Change can only begin in family units that have a non-threatening home environment with ample resources to have the basics of life: an education, food, medical care, a job, a church and love.  I am supportive of community support and tax funding of such endeavors, but I am not in support of a welfare system that is seen as a “social justice right.”

When we as a society began to reject the political correct agenda and stand up for what is morally right based upon a religious heritage that places God first, America can once again become a great society.  Can we have this discussion?

If not, may God have mercy on our souls.

I’ve never owned one but they always amuse me.  You’ve seen them, the little dog placed in the back window of a sedan type vehicle with its head bobbing around, or the little man with his bobbing head. They are cute but they don’t serve any purpose other than to make people laugh.

The bobble heads do have real life likenesses.  Many can be found in the House of Representatives and Senate; they are most prominent when serving on committees that are having hearings.  Can’t you just see them sitting up there on their “thrones.” Their little “big heads” are bobbing up and down as they ask for responses to stupid questions – many trying to make themselves appear intelligent but in actuality showing their arrogance and ignorance.

They, bobble heads, are everywhere; look at the members of the press when our President is giving a news conference.  I can just imagine what President Obama sees from his podium.  He probably is having a good chuckle; look at those fools, he thinks, as he reads from his teleprompter.

As Jeff Foxworthy made famous “You might be a redneck” in his comedy routine lines, I find similar humor in the line, “You might be a Bobble Head” if:

As a Senator or Representative;

 ·        You voted for the cap and trade bill without any thought or understanding of the massive energy cost increases that will be placed on both residential and business consumers.

  ·        You voted for the Stimulus Bill without having read or understood its real intent: political paybacks to lobbyists, government bureaucrats, State government bailouts and other pork projects.

  ·        You support universal “Obama Care,” the government managed health initiative (it has been a failure in other countries), that will result in rationed health care, lower quality and increased cost.

 ·        You are allowing the Judicial Branch of our government to legislate laws.

 ·        You blindly follow the leadership of Nancy Polosi and Harry Reid: bobble, bobble, bobble!

 ·        You willing participate with President Obama in his leading of America into Socialism.

 ·        You think “CZARs” are a new candy bar.

 As a Citizen;

 ·        You don’t recognize or even care about what is happening to America.  Michael Jackson’s death was of more importance to you than American soldiers being killed or wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan.

·        You don’t recognize lies and propaganda in network news reporting.

·        You would rather watch Dancing with the Stars, Survivor and other fantasy programming rather than spending time educating yourself or even spending time with your family.

·        You are ignorant of the history of our great nation.  Who was George Washington and what is this declaration you’re talking about; you just want your “rights?”

·        You condone by your silence the dummying down of our education system and the removal of any reference to God from our institutions.

·        The list could go on and on, but it would be lost on most of America’s citizens.  They have believed the lie; “change,” change is what is needed our leader says, and the citizens say, yes messiah!

I say “no” to change, but “yes” to the restoring of the American dream, the Ten Commandments, The Pledge of Allegiance, and In God we Trust. 

  … And the heads continue to bobble up and down while the rest of the world laughs.

I will have to be the first to admit that some of my best ideas come from other people.  A recent Christian Index article featured a Baptist church whose pastor encouraged his congregation to twitter as he brought the message; they could ask for clarification or provide feedback on his topic.  In today’s world they are truly a “modern day church.”   

While relating this story to my Sunday school class, Peggy our teacher, remarked that she twittered to God all the time.  What a modern way to describe a believer’s prayer life with God, I thought.  I wish I had thought of describing a believer’s daily walk with God that way myself.   

Just as twittering has so quickly become the rage, imagine what the world would be like if everyone twittered with God.  It would be like heaven on earth.  You may laugh but this is exactly what staying in touch with God is all about. For a person who proclaims Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, it happens everyday. 

A word of caution is in order.  Just as a virus can attack your personal computer, Satan and his demons also twitter; they are constantly trying to attack your soul and spirit. Think about it. You are going about your own business when suddenly an envious thought runs through your mind; you have just been twittered.  A married member of the opposite sex or same sex as the world so openly embraces, seemingly flirts with you and sudden thoughts of adultery become appealing; you have just been twittered.  

Followers of Jesus Christ were instructed to test all spirits before accepting their message.  For example, you may feel you need to leave your husband or wife for someone else, and you can even conjure up reasons to justify your “feelings.” If you call yourself a Christian, you probably should consider questioning your reasons before considering a divorce or an affair.  If you are a non-Christian, God (the God of the Bible) considers you a pagan–so continue to deny God as you wander down the pathway to eternal damnation.  

Spirits know who Jesus Christ is and tremble at his name; however, they are not afraid of you and will often mask themselves as good Spirits just to gain access to your soul.  Think about it from an Islamic perspective; lying is permitted if it gets you a temporary advantage over your opponent; the same can be said about Satan as he is described in Biblical scriptures as a liar. 

So, do you twitter with God?  It is a great way to walk in the Spirit.  If God is leading you, accept his invitation to make Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior.  Once you surrender yourself to God you can begin your daily twitters with God and find the “peace that surpasses all understanding.” 

Are you twittering with God or are you twittering with Satan?  It is either one or the other.  Time is running out. Choose wisely.

How many times and in how many ways must it be said, “Obey God’s commandments, not man’s lustful and envious ways?”  The ancients were told how they should live, and the knowledge they were told still applies to man of today.

Why can man (men and women) not live and be satisfied with doing what is righteous?  What is wrong with being loving toward your fellow man rather than envious toward him?

The reason is simple, man has two natures: a human nature that can be good or bad and a spiritual nature that can be good or bad.  The good or bad of either nature is all dependent upon man; he can chose to live according to the good or bad extremes of both or some derivative of each.  It is man’s free choice.

The bad extremes of both will lead to a life that will embrace acts of sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery, idolatry and witchcraft, hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy, drunkenness, orgies and the like as listed in Galatians 5:19-21, KJV.

Man, without God, will pursue or gravitate toward bad rather than toward good.  If you don’t believe this, just look around.  The news is filled with acts of violence and greed being committed by man. Do you enjoy living this way?  The world is getting worse, not better.

But man does not have to live this way.  He can choose to accept that there is a creator who only desires what is best for man.  His human and spiritual natures can be empowered by God’s Holy Spirit and by this Spirit man can live in love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control: called the fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22, KJV.

Man has searched for truth and has not found it, but truth has been available since God first walked and talked with man. The truth is this; man can only live in the fullness of life if he accepts and believes in the God of the Bible and asks Jesus Christ to come into his heart and dwell with him.  This truth is very simple but considered foolish by the world.

Look at your own life.  If you don’t have God you cannot have the fullness of the Spirit.  If you say you don’t need God, you are lying to yourself.  Be honest and accept the truth and be freed from your guilt and iniquities.  No one who does not claim Jesus Christ as his savior will ever be content or happy.  True happiness can only be found in Jesus.

For you doubters, read the book of Ecclesiastes and then read about the wealth of its writer, King Solomon, in 2 Chronicles, KJV.  A King of Israel for forty years with many wives, great wealth, and grandiose riches writes about life-pursued man’s way.  Please, read his words in Ecclesiastes. It will change your life if you will study and then pray about it to God.

All Americans who are interested in restoring greatness back to America should carefully read the words written in 2 Chronicles 7:14, KJV; “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”  This has applications to the American citizen of today.

If you choose not to believe in God and his son Jesus Christ, you can live in a world of your making and choose to live in a world full of hate, jealousy, divorce, child abuse, pornography, sexual immorality, drug use, disobedience, lack of respect for authority, and other social illnesses that plague this country.  Listen to all of the hate mongering on your radio and television.  Is this what you want?  The sad fact is it will be worse when God is completely removed from America. 

All anyone has to do is accept God’s free gift by confessing that he is not in God’s will; that Jesus Christ came to die as a sacrifice for man’s iniquities; that He was raised from the dead; that He ascended into heaven; that He will send His Holy Spirit to dwell in you and to show you the way to live; that one day Jesus Christ will return for those who have accepted him, and they will live forever with him in eternity.

This was all explained in the writings we call the Bible that was written over two thousand years ago.  Even prior to the Biblical records, man was made aware of God.  The principles given then still apply today.

You can deny, deny and deny the existence of God and his commands and claim man can make everything better in and of himself.  However, history has shown that man has and will repeatedly seek to do evil rather than do good.  It is a fact!

America was founded under the leadership of men called by God.  They wrote a Constitution, a Bill of Rights and a Declaration of Independence under the guidance of God’s leadership through His Holy Spirit.  Let me repeat, this happened under God’s leadership and our founding fathers gave God the credit.

Man will never be perfect until Jesus Christ returns.  In the interim Jesus Christ gave his life as a ransom for man’s iniquities.  If you accept his gift of grace and place your life in his, he will send to you his Holy Spirit.

It is shameful how American Christians have allowed a few Godless men to denied the existence of God (man’s creator) and have allowed them to deny the very history of America’s founding.  Christians have allowed the very soul and spirit of America’s founders to be trodden under the feet of ungodly lawyers, politicians, and judicial activists who desire that America’s citizens live a life without God. 

Will we as God-fearing men and women allow them to have their way or do we take a stand for God, the God of our founders and our forefathers of ancient times?  We either stand now or we will be swept away to the Lake of Fire that awaits all who deny God.

It is your choice, what will you choose: man’s way or God’s way?  Choose wisely as your very soul depends upon your choice.

What will be the wake up call that unites America’s silent majority to stand together and declare enough is enough.  Will it be – 

·        A public school system collapsing under the burden of school violence, disrespectful students, difficult parents, timid school boards, inadequate funding, low demands and standards?  

 ·        A criminal justice system that favors criminal rights over victim’s rights combined with uncontrollable or permitted violence in our existing prison systems.  

·        An alcohol and drug epidemic at all levels of society that is spreading to younger and younger age groups?  

·        Elected official who succumb to greed and power mongering, lining their own pockets with the fruits of the citizens they represent, rather than governing as they were elected to govern.  

·        A government intent on destroying the very fabric of America’s strength, its Constitution, without the consent of the citizens who permit them to govern.  

·        Godlessness promoted by a few but accepted without question by a majority of Christian denominations. 

The list could go on and on but we have passed the enough is enough stage. Does no one care?  Will no one commit to standing up for decency?   

Yes, we as a society can set standards of decency.  The majority can and should get off their butts and begin to demand changes.  You can turn off your television and stop watching inappropriate programming.  You can demand that school order be restored and that standards be enforced.  You can restore order but it must first start in your own home.  Who is willing to take a stand? 

America’s problems are so massive it is going to be next to impossible for America to recover.  Will it take a major disaster to awaken enough citizens to force a change and return America to being a Great Nation, a nation our forefathers fought for and defended in order to promote freedom for all its citizens.  Or, will we abandon our free status to become part of a one-world system that will only allow us to have what the “non-elected leaders” deem appropriate for our station in life.  

A majority of citizens still believe that America is the greatest country on earth but like me disapproves of changes that are taking place in America.  I’m sure most are frightened or should I say disgusted, by the total lack of integrity and decency being exhibited by our political leaders and representatives. 

But, it’s not just the politicians who are at fault. We all share in the blame.  Are you willing to take a stand?  Where do you stand?

It is time to vote.  Every American who cares about the future of this country must take a stand: 

(1) Do we want to continue with our Republic which was established as a Christian Nation by our forefathers with a Constitution of separated powers: an Executive Branch, a Legislative Branch and a Judicial Branch? The Constitution “is what it is” and is the basis for our laws.  It is not antiquated. The Judicial Branch is not to legislate laws.  

Or,  

(2) Do we want to abandon our Constitution to political correctness and allow the Judicial Branch to legislate laws and our Executive Branch to destroy our capitalistic market system in favor of a Fascist or Socialistic form of government ruled by a supreme elite that will control everyone and everything? 

It is time to vote.  Do you want number 1 or number 2 as described above?  There are no in between votes.  We either remain with the system for which our forefathers fought and died and that has served this country well for over 200 years or we abandoned it.  It is your choice.  

We can do two things immediately.  First, began by flying the American Flag on your property.  Let others know why you are flying the flag and encourage them to do likewise.  

Second, personally write your State and Federal Representatives and tell them you support number one above and will campaign and vote against any candidate that does not support returning the Constitution to its rightful place.  Monitor their voting records and let them know constantly that you are watching. 

Third, let’s work to get God back in our schools, the Ten Commandments back in our courthouses, and prayer back in our lives.  Tell your representatives this is what you want. 

Stand up, speak out, and make your views heard.  Our country is too great to allow a few Godless men who have been enticed by immorality in all its various forms to spread their hatred of God across America.  

Will you take a stand?

The media has been complicit with those intent on destroying America with their warnings of impending doom if immediate change is not made in regard to fossil energy use.  Politicians influenced by self interest groups lead the charge to implement new and bold initiatives that will potentially bankrupt the average American.  This is all being done with science that is flawed; the same old “I am right, you are wrong philosophy” spouted by influential politicians and misguided men who call themselves scientists.  They are selling their souls for money, recognition, importance and the like.  They have no respect or concern for America or the World at large. 

Of greater concern is the return of Jesus Christ.  Yes, the fulfillment of Biblical prophesies foretold thousands of years ago leading to Jesus’ return are being fulfilled at a rapid pace. Soon the signing of a seven-year peace accord with Israel and the revealing of the “man of lawlessness” will usher in the final sign; the Antichrist, as he is called, will usher in seven years of hell on earth that will end life, as we presently know it. Not for the believers in Jesus Christ, however, because they will be taken in what is called the “Rapture” prior to the unfolding of the this period which is called the Tribulation. 

While I believe America should reduce its dependence on foreign oil, I do not believe America should abandon its own resources (including nuclear, gas and oil) because of an unsubstantiated fear of immediate doom from global warming.  Yes, everyone should be more environmentally concerned, but global warming is not what should be feared. Rather, the second coming of Jesus Christ is more imminent and should be of utmost concern to those who do not know him.

American society and the world’s populace are both ill prepared and will perish during the seven-year tribulation period leading up to Jesus Christ’s second coming. Have you been told the story of Jesus? Have you placed your faith in man’s gods of gold and silver or the God of the Universe? What do you believe?  Check it out before it is too late.
