The End for America!

I truly believe the good times as I have known them are coming to an end for the present generation of Americans.  But what do I know?  I am just an old man who has not only enjoyed the freedoms and opportunities available in the United States but has also been protected by the Holy Spirit of God since birth, although I did not recognize this protection for many years.  Whether that was God’s doing or mine I do not know.  You many have that protection too, but the only way to find out is to acknowledge Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and allow the Holy Spirit to indwell you.  There is no other way that I know and through my Blogs, spirit.theindwelling.org and blog.northloopcottage.com, I have tried to encourage my readers to “Give God a Chance.”

America decided many years ago to deny God.  After all, man is a god unto himself or so he believes.  Civilization’s intelligent and strong in physical statue have always turned from God to pursue the desires of their human hearts; they have controlled and dominated the “less fortunate” for their own benefit since the beginning of time.

Man’s very nature if not controlled will always desire the sensuality of life —human lust, greed and sexual immorality. For instance, at various times in history a married man or woman would not violate their marriage vows no matter how great the temptation of the flesh confronting them.  This is no longer true in today’s society.  Marriage vows are quickly forgotten when the “he or she is not fulfilling my needs” syndrome is allowed to fester in one’s mind.

Morality in America vanished with the growth of the movie industry and the Christian’s acceptance of “just a little nudity does not harm anyone.”   With “just a little” God was gradually cast aside by a godless minority while the “religious” majority lavished in their godless life styles and did nothing to stop their idolatrous relationship with the materialistic riches of America.

Homosexuality and marriage between two non-heterosexual partners is now being legitimized by both the religious and non-religious.  Today’s society seeks to redefine the written word of God to justify immorality and as an appeasement of their conscience.

The Biblical Christian’s stance is well defined in the Holy Bible. I was pleased to see Bryant Wright’s, President of the Southern Baptist Convention, recent refusal to not compromise the teachings of Biblical Scripture regarding sexual purity; this happened  during a meeting with a coalition of homosexual leaders and allies.  “When the Scripture is so clear about sexual purity, for us to compromise … that is just something that we’re not going to be able to do,” replied Wright to a request to engage in a dialog to compromise scripture.  See article by: Michael Foust, Associate Editor of Baptist Press, “Gay leaders meet with SBC president,”  The Christian Index, Volume 190, Number 12, June 15, 2011, page 8, www.christianindex.org.

“Should we love homosexuals? Absolutely! Should we smile at their sexual perversion? Absolutely not!”  responded Dr. J. Gerald Harris, Editor, The Christian Index,  in his editorial “The gay community must be loved, not just tolerated, The Christian Index , Volume 190, Number 9, May 19, 2011, pages 4-5, www.christianindex.org.

What now must happen for America to recapture its past glory?  God gave us the answer in 2 Chronicles 7:14 (NIV):  “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

If you want God to return we must respond to his calling by following His instructions given in 2 Chronicles above.  We must also return to Him in faith and belief and restore His Ten Commandment to their rightful place in America from which they were removed by our godless Judicial, Executive and Legislative branches of government.

You can find the commandments in the Biblical book of Exodus, chapter 20.  They are very simple but powerful in their concept.  The first three commandments are the ones most find hard to accept.  Admitting that there is a supreme creator, that is called God, goes against man’s desire to be free from any and all restrictions.  God gave man the freedom of choice—free to do as he pleased—but that freedom came with a warning:  Live without God and face the realities of the human desires of the flesh(survival of the fittest) or permit God to lead you by showing you,” the way, the truth and the life.”

“Total freedom in God requires that you have faith, trust, respect and belief in Him as God.  Gold, silver, bronze, stone and wood are inanimate objects that man fashions into gods, but they are not gods.  They cannot speak or hear and they cannot satisfy the human need for a relationship with the creator of life.”  The government is not a god and neither are other men or women.  The modern day cell phone has become a god to many in the world.

Once you accept God for who He is, the other remaining seven commandments are pretty basic to maintaining a peaceful civilized life.  God knew man needed a day of rest each week for the rejuvenation of his soul and spirit.  Neglect the body’s needs for rest and suffer physical and mental anguish.

You should honor your father and mother.  Why, especially if they were mean, cruel and non-loving?  If you had parents of this nature, forgive them in your own mind for their transgressions and move on with your life.  Let God deal with them in His own time and manner and don’t make their problems yours.  If you have a loving relationship with your parents, honor them with your time, resources and understanding as they age.  As your children see you care for your parents, so will they likewise care for you.

The final four commandments really need no explanation.  It is wrong to murder, to commit adultery, to steal, to lie and to covet or desire things that do not belong to you.  Unfortunately, many living in today’s society were never exposed to these commandments in their youth.  If you are not taught these at home, at church, at school or by example you may not realize they are wrong.

It is impossible for you to keep all of the commandments, but  God in His mercy sent His son Jesus to die on a cross for your sins knowing that the desires of the flesh would prevent you from keeping all the commandments every day, hour, minute and second of each day.  If you will accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior and follow the lead of the Holy Spirit, you can live forever in the heaven Jesus is preparing for you.  Please note, unless you confess Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior you cannot be with Him in His heaven.  You may be able to go to another heaven, but not to the one He promised to those who believe in Him.

You can have the peace that surpasses all understanding that God promised.  It, however, is up to you.  Jesus Christ stands at the door and is knocking. Want you let him in?

As recorded in the book of Isaiah, chapter 1, verses 18 through 20, “’Come now, let us reason together’ says the Lord. ‘Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be like wool. If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the best from the land; but if you resist and rebel, you will be devoured by the sword.’ For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”

America must return to Jesus Christ.  It is as simple as that!

Is Your Eternal Life in Jeopardy?

What you don’t know or fully understand about Biblical Scriptures of the Holy Bible can place your present and future eternal life in jeopardy!  Hollywood does not understand, the Network News Media does not understand, Christians, in name only, do not understand, President Obama does not understand, followers of Islam do not understand and even many pastors or “Men of God” do not understand the ramifications of Biblical ignorance and man’s refusal to believe in the Biblical God, the “I AM THAT I AM” of Exodus 3: 14 KJV.

Why this lack of understanding is so prevalent in today’s world is remarkable when one can but look around at the vastness of the universe and the beauty of the earth. God’s prophets of old revealed the end times that man would live through from the beginning of time as told in Isaiah 46:10-11 NIV: “I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me. I make known the end from the beginning.”

There is no excuse for ignorance.  The Holy Bible is the road map for Salvation. If you are not a Biblical Christian but you claim Christianity on your own terms or you are satisfied there is not a God and there is not a future life after death, you have rejected the God of the Bible and you will face judgment for your sins.  Continue in your unbelief. Perhaps your hope or lack of hope in an eternal life can be found in someone or somewhere else. But why listen or hope in today’s ungodly men when eternal life can be found in the Trinity of the Bible—God the father, God the Son (Jesus Christ) and God the Holy Spirit. If you do not accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior you have no hope.

There is soon coming a time of judgment, and those without Jesus Christ will face a tribulation of “hell on earth.” Consider the following prophetic descriptions of what is to come to those who do not have Jesus Christ:

“…ugly and painful sores will break out on the people who have accepted the mark of the beast or who worshiped his image” Revelation 16:2 NIV. “The sun will scorch people with fire but they will refuse to repent and Glorify God” Revelation 16:8-9. ”Men will gnawed their tongues in agony and curse the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, but they will refuse to repent of what they had done” Revelation 16:10-11 NIV. ”Out of the smoke locusts came down upon the earth and were given power like that of scorpions of the earth. They were told not to harm the grass of the earth or any plant or tree, but only those who did not have the seal of God on their foreheads.  They were not given power to kill them, but only to torture them for five months. And the agony they suffered was like that of the sting of a scorpion when it strikes a man.  During those days men will seek death, but will not find it; they will long to die, but death will elude them” Revelation 9: 4-6 NIV.  Emphasis added by author.

Yes, God knew the end time catastrophic events that would plague the earth—earthquakes, asteroids and the resultant Tsunami’s, famines, and pestilences that would result.  God also foretold and understood the actions of man and Satan. Man still rejects God’s words of wisdom and continues to believe the lies of Satan, a created being just as man was a created being.

God’s Disciple and Prophet, John, reveals to us in the book of Revelation, Chapters 6 and 8:1-5, what I call the “grand overview” of end time events that will occur during the soon coming “seven year tribulation period.”   These events are called The Seven Seals.  Within the Seven Seals there will be Seven Trumpets and Seven Vials that reveal exceedingly excruciating details of pain, death and destruction that were introduced and described / revealed in the Seven Seals.  More learned scholars will differ in my assessment as to the actual sequence of events and that is expected given my limited scholarly education, nevertheless the end results or outcome will be the same.   The grand overview of the Seven Bowls, in my restatement, is as follows:

1.    There will come a time of world conquest by one that will be called the Antichrist, Revelation 6:3.

2.    Peace will be taken from the earth and man will murder one another, Revelation 6:4.

3.    Famine will come and there will be a shortage of food, Revelation 6:5-6.

4.    Death will come and one fourth of the earth’s population will be killed by the sword, famine, plagues and the wild beast of the earth, Revelation 6:8

5.    Christians will be murdered because of the word of God and their testimony, Revelation 6:9-11.

6.    There will be a great earthquake with every mountain and island being moved, Revelation 6:12-14.

7.    God will make His presence known with another earthquake and a great hail storm (hail may weigh as much as 100 lbs, Revelation 16: 21), Revelation 6:15-16.

The immanency of these events is growing “just as the birth pains of a woman in child birth increase in frequency and severity prior to her delivery.” There is hope for the future. However, that hope can only be found in Jesus Christ. Would you like that hope? God’s plan of salvation is a gift; there are no works involved.  In other words, your good deeds do not have to outweigh your bad deeds.  Simply believe and accept God’s calling in your life.  The HOW is explained in the following:

Note: If you are a frequent reader of this blog you may have read the January 2011 post entitled, “Is God Calling You” that follows. For those who are seeking God, prayerfully read and believe in the Spirit’s calling that will be beckoning you to repent and believe.

Question, is God’s spirit calling you to repentance and salvation?  Do you feel that gentle tug in your heart and soul asking you to allow Him to come into your life and set you free from the physical and emotional bondage that has bound you to a life of emptiness, bitterness, despair, loneliness, dependency, depression, or just a feeling that there is more to life than you have found?

If you are hearing God’s beckoning call, then answer His call in faith and belief as you read the following “Plan of Salvation:”

·        Confess that you are outside the will of God, Romans 3:23 KJV, “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God; (All bold and underlined text added by author for emphasis.)

·        Realize that at your death an eternity without God is your future, Romans 6:23 KJV, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord;”

·        Believe that Jesus Christ by his sacrificial death on a Roman Cross paid your sin debt, Romans 5:8 KJV, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us;”

·        Believe that Christ rose from dead. Confess, believe and repent of your sins. Romans 10:9 KJV, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved;”

·        Believe that by Grace you are saved through faith, Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV: “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:  Not of works, lest any man should boast;”

·        Believe that by your confession of Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and by believing in God you will have everlasting life, John 5:24 KJV, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life;”

·        Rejoice that you have found salvation through Jesus Christ, Romans 10:13 KJV, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

If you are willing to believe upon and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, tell Him now by saying this simple prayer and begin a new life in Him:

“God, I know I have been outside your will and that I do not of myself deserve eternal life. I believe Jesus Christ paid my sin debt for me by dying on a cross and then by His rising from death and the grave showed His defeat over both hell and the grave.  I now place my trust and belief in Jesus Christ alone.  I thank you God for your forgiveness, grace and salvation.  In the Holy name of Jesus I now allow the Holy Spirit to indwell me and to give me a new spiritual birth with a ‘Spiritual Heart’ to replace my ‘spiritual human heart.’ Thank you Jesus, Amen.“

Your trusting in Jesus Christ has now saved you and made you a child of God. Find a fellowship of believers, be baptized to announce to the world your new found life, and follow the lead of the Holy Spirit that will indwell your life and provide you comfort, grace and reveal to you the purpose of your life.

Commit the scriptural references outlined above to memory One day you may have the opportunity to explain God’s plan of salvation to someone else that is hearing the Spirit of God’s call.

I hope you will accept God’s plan.  AMEN!

What about God and this Jesus Stuff?

Do you really believe in this God and Jesus stuff?  Really, deep down do you really believe there is a God, a creator of heaven and earth?  What about this Jesus character? Was He really the Son of God?

To many, God is only someone to either embrace or “kick-around” when things are going bad or someone to “ignore” when things are going great.  What about you?

It is time to be more than just a “Sunday Morning Christian.”  Serving God on Sunday and serving “the world” the other six days might find you in the “Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels” crowd of Matthew 25: 31-46 NIV.  If you really believe God is real and Jesus was His Son, demonstrate your believe in your everyday walk.

Do not be ashamed to acknowledge Jesus as your Lord and Savior.  As recorded in Mark 8:36-37 NIV, “What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul? If any one is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his Father’s glory with the holy angels”

It is time, if you do not believe in God, to consider your own morality and mortality. Being good and doing good works serve only as “feel good” emotions.  You have no promise of an after life because you only have worldly gods of gold, silver, brass, wood and stubble; gods who cannot speak, hear, or see.  You might as well lead a decadent lifestyle as to lead one of  “moral righteousness.” The survival of the fittest is all that matters in a Godless world.

Find a Bible and read Romans chapters one, two and three.  Give the words careful and thoughtful contemplation and consideration because your body, soul and spirit will be called to give an accounting of your actions in the not too distant future. In Romans you find words inspired of God that are just as truthful in our modern world as they were when they were written over two thousand years ago.

It is recorded in Micah 7:13 NIV, “The earth will become desolate because of its inhabitants as a result of their deeds.”  The earth will one day be renovated by fire so don’t fear or believe the Global Warning message of former Vice President, Al Gore.  Biblical prophecy warned of this over two thousand of years ago, but we have all been too busy to heed the warnings.

Your only salvation is in Jesus Christ. Yes, I said Jesus Christ.  As recorded in 1 John 5:11-12 NIV: “God has given us eternal life and this life is in his Son.  He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.”

The only truth that can be found about the one true God and the “afterlife” is recorded in the Biblical scriptures. Seek and you will find peace for your body, soul and spirit.

Believe what you want and follow whom you will, but as for me I have chosen to follow Jesus.  What about you?

The Spiritual and Physical Dimensions

I am surrounded by two worlds: an invisible spiritual world and a visible physical world.  I am a follower and believer in Jesus Christ in both the spiritual world and in the physical world.  Jesus is my Lord and Savior, and He rules over both dimensions.

The Holy Spirit of God has blessed me since birth.  You might say that I believe my life was predestined for this time in history.  Predestined in the since that my genetic makeup, my DNA code, was programmed to know God from birth.  I have never denied the existence of God, and His Spirit and a protective force has surrounded my life since birth.  There is not enough space to explain this in this format, but I have explained it in my book, Confessions of a Closet Christian.

I refer to myself as a Closet Christian because I kept my calling hidden for many years.  I am a “one-talent” person like Jesus described in one of His kingdom of heaven parables, the Parable of the Talents, recorded in Matthews 25:14-30. I hid or did not recognize my talent for many years.  Although blessed and called to be God’s from birth, I could have cast it all away if I had left my talent buried. Fortunately, I discovered it and now I am using it as God intended.

But let me say this, I am not dogmatic in my profession of Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.  By dogmatic I mean: I do not condemn those who do not believe as I do; I do not force my faith and beliefs on anyone; I do not claim to have all the religious answers; I will be a friend if I like you as a person no matter what your religious views; I am not a religious zealot; I am not judgmental; I do not picket with signs and challenge the faith and beliefs of others.

Do not get me wrong. I do not keep my religious views hidden, and I am not ashamed of Jesus Christ. My religious witness is this: I believe what I believe, and I will not waiver from that belief. I believe Jesus was being truthful when He said, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die” John 11:25-26.  If you believe otherwise, take it up with the god you pray to as I am only stating what Jesus said about Himself.  I hope my life reflects something good that you would want to know more about and why I have peace that surpasses all understanding. I want you to be comfortable asking me about my peace. I have experienced the power of God’s Holy Spirit in my life so I know God is real.

Until you experience, acknowledge and accept God’s Spirit you will not understand. You will only see a person’s belief in Jesus Christ as the world sees it— as foolishness and naïveté.  I also know that I cannot convince you to surrender your free will to God if he has not made Himself known to you; that is, He has not convicted your heart and soul that something is missing in you life. You cannot find God in your mind or in your intellectual reasoning or pursuit.

You can only find God in your spirit when His Spirit awakens you to His presence. As you “craw in the gutter of life” lamenting your situation, ask God to help you find peace and understanding. He will set you free when you discover the truth, and the best of all — it is free for the asking.

I pray that God is pleading with your soul and spirit.  If he is: accept his plea; confess your sins; ask Jesus to come into your heart believing that He was born of a virgin, died on a cross for your transgressions, and was raised from the dead to save you; receive His Spirit and follow the Spirits lead to a new life in Jesus Christ.

What to fear: Global Warming or Return of Jesus Christ?

The media has been complicit with those intent on destroying America with their warnings of impending doom if immediate change is not made in regard to fossil energy use.  Politicians influenced by self interest groups lead the charge to implement new and bold initiatives that will potentially bankrupt the average American.  This is all being done with science that is flawed; the same old “I am right, you are wrong philosophy” spouted by influential politicians and misguided men who call themselves scientists.  They are selling their souls for money, recognition, importance and the like.  They have no respect or concern for America or the World at large.

Of greater concern is the return of Jesus Christ.  Yes, the fulfillment of Biblical prophesies foretold thousands of years ago leading to Jesus’ return are being fulfilled at a rapid pace. Soon the signing of a seven-year peace accord with Israel and the revealing of the “man of lawlessness” will usher in the final sign; the Antichrist, as he is called, will usher in seven years of hell on earth that will end life, as we presently know it. Not for the believers in Jesus Christ, however, because they will be taken in what is called the “Rapture” prior to the unfolding of the this period which is called the Tribulation.

While I believe America should reduce its dependence on foreign oil, I do not believe America should abandon its own resources (including nuclear, gas and oil) because of an unsubstantiated fear of immediate doom from global warming.  Yes, everyone should be more environmentally concerned, but global warming is not what should be feared. Rather, the second coming of Jesus Christ is more imminent and should be of utmost concern to those who do not know him.

American society and the world’s populace are both ill prepared and will perish during the seven-year tribulation period leading up to Jesus Christ’s second coming. Have you been told the story of Jesus? Have you placed your faith in man’s gods of gold and silver or the God of the Universe? What do you believe?  Check it out before it is too late.

If you had one last wish, what would it be?

We will all die one day – some peacefully, some violently and some, somewhere in between. For most people when they awake to begin a new day, thoughts of death are not on their mind, nor should there be. Death is not a topic easily discussed, and is feared by many.

But, death will come for all.  If you knew you were dying, what would your deathbed wish be?  Would you pray for additional days?  To whom would you pray: the God of the Bible or to some other god or gods? Would you seek forgiveness for any wrongs done to your fellow man?  Would you be afraid?  Would you be angry? Would you have peace?  Just what would your last wish be?

Most will not get a last wish.  An accident, murder, heart attack or some other event could take their life in an instance.  Is their death more tragic in that they did not get a “last wish.”

Hezekiah, a king of Judah who reigned in Jerusalem, when told he was dying cried out to God to remember all the good he had done. As he lay on his bed weeping bitterly, God heard his prayer of anguish; I do not want to die.  God granted Hezekiah fifteen additional years of life, and the prophet Isaiah was sent to announce the good news; he also applied a medical potent on Hezekiah’s wound, which had healing results.  As proof that God had spoken, the sun’s shadow was made to reverse itself by going back ten steps.  This was quite a miracle in both cases: a physical body healing and a supernatural cosmic event. You can read about it for yourself. The story can be found in the Bible: the Book of Isaiah, chapter 38 and the Book of 2nd Kings, chapter 20.

For believers in Jesus Christ death is but a passage to a new life.  Death is not to be feared but to be welcomed.  I have heard many ask why the good or young have to die so early.  I take comfort in words found in Isaiah 57:1-2, KJV: “The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come. He shall enter into peace: they shall rest in their beds, each one walking in his uprightness.”                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     Has Has your life been such that God would grant you additional years?  Would God be listening if you did cry out?  Does God even know who you are?  In whom do you believe: God or god(s)? Do you know the difference? Try reaching out and talking to God; it is never too late. Maybe he will hear your call.

Is Jesus Christ the only way to heaven?

Let’s settle a question that is not widely discussed but is a source of multiple opinions and controversy when considered by the multitude.   The question is this, “Is a belief in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior the only way to heaven?”

If you accept the Bible as the inspired word of God and the truths contained therein, the answer is YES.   The Bible teaches there is no other way!

I really do not care what you think regarding your god or my God.  I am not trying to force my beliefs about God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit on you.  I am not condemning you or your beliefs.  I am not going to tell you that you cannot get to heaven based on your beliefs; however, I am telling you that the Bible points to Jesus Christ as the only way to heaven.

Take the Bible and Jesus out of the world and the world will turn toward man and his ways.  Do you need proof?  Look only at the United States.  We are removing God and his commandments from our culture, and no one is stepping up to challenge the influences that are leading this country astray. I will pray for your soul.  Are you praying for my soul? One of us is right.  I’ll take my chance on Jesus.  If I am wrong, so be it.

Now, if you do not agree with my answer then that is ok.  You can decide for yourself what actions on your part or that of your god will get you to heaven.  But, you cannot go to the heaven that the Bible states awaits those who place their trust and salvation in Jesus Christ.

Are there other gods who have heavens? If you believe there are, you can support your position based on the books written about or by your god or gods about their heaven and how to get there.  You cannot, however, justify your beliefs by quoting from the Bible since you do not believe in its teachings.  To do otherwise makes you out to be a fool.

Followers of Islam will not have a problem with my belief in Jesus as long as I am not trying to convert them. After all, I am just an infidel who should be killed.  That’s right, unless an infidel is willing to convert, the god of Mohammad would condone their death by decapitation.  But, the majority of Muslims are peaceful.

Wait a minute you say, did not the God of the Bible tell the Israelites to slay men, women, children and animals conquered as they entered the promise land.  Yes, they were instructed to kill a population of pagans who practiced child sacrifice, fornication, wickedness and other evil practices so that they would not be influenced by them.  The Israelites did not do as their God commanded and were led into sinful practices of the people they conquered and were punished for their disobedience.

But wait another minute.  Don’t the citizens of the United States practice child sacrifice (abortion), fornication (adultery and other acts of the flesh), wickedness and other evil practices (lying, cheating, idolatry)?  Read and study the Bible under the influence of the Holy Spirit and all of this will be made clear to you.

Let’s continue. Atheists should not have a problem with my belief; after all, they don’t believe there is a God or gods so what is heaven to them.   Atheists believe the world would be better off if God and religion were removed.  Man would do what is right according to man. No need for this God stuff.

The only groups that may have a problem with my belief are people who call themselves Christians, but who do not believe that Jesus is the only way to heaven.  This group of church going people represents over half of the people who call themselves Christians. These Christians, and they include Baptist, Methodist, Presbyterians, Catholics, Episcopalians and others groups, must have books that support multiple ways to heaven because the Bible certainly does not.  I do not consider myself to be a part of their group.

Herein lies the problem.  People who believe that Jesus is the only was to heaven and call themselves Christians are lumped in with other groups who call themselves Christians but who do not believe that Jesus is the only way to heaven.  So how do we resolve this problem? One group needs to call themselves by another name.

In my opinion those who believe Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven should change their name to “Disciples and Followers of Jesus,” and their group name to  “Fellowship of Believers.”  Their mission is simply to be salt and light to an unbelieving world.  Their example should lead others to want to be like them, not to hate them.

Believers in Jesus Christ have not been saved to change the political system but simple to change lives that will lead to a change in the political system as they vote for candidates who have like beliefs.  In other words, get government back to the way the founding fathers established it.

If you have never read the Bible or even if you have, follow me as I attempt to present my reasons for believing that Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven.  It might change your life but if it doesn’t, to hell with you.

Sexual promiscuity: freedom or imprisonment?

When the Hebrew children were beginning to form a nation, their God gave them rules, regulations and commandments.  They had lived in slavery in a pagan society for hundreds of years and were going into lands that were also pagan.  Rules and regulations had to be implemented and enforced.  Otherwise, they would fall prey to the evils of societies they would encounter and become captives of their idolatrous living.

Similarly, the United States was formed under the inspiration of God, the same God of the Hebrews that was working in the lives of our founding fathers.  A Constitution and Bill of Rights was written and a government formed.  Like the Hebrew children, many in the United States have now forgotten the God of their founding fathers and ungodly judges, lawyers and politicians are rewriting the Constitution and its interpretation to suit a more “enlightened nation.”

In the formation of the Hebrew nation, sexual promiscuity was identified as one of the sins the Hebrew society was to guard against.  In historic American sexual promiscuity was considered a sin but in modern America, sexual promiscuity is viewed as freedom from legalistic Biblical teachings of the religious right.

When you hear of sin, think of that label in terms of ones health: both mental and emotional. There is a connection between sexual promiscuity and ones health.  The God of both the Hebrew children and America’s founding fathers knew this and warned them.  That warning still applies today.

One of the Ten Commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” is found in Deuteronomy 5:18, KJV.  Other regulations regarding sexual activities can also be found in the book of Deuteronomy.  Among these are regulations regarding the following: prostitution by both men and women; virginity; family incest; bestiality; homosexuality; transvestism; adultery; rape and others.

You may not see anything wrong with sexual promiscuity.  I would dare say a large percentage of people of all faiths do not see anything wrong.  After all, everyone is just doing what feels good. It is only a human desire although a very powerful one!

God knew sexual promiscuity would cause many problems, and this is why it was viewed as sinful; the Hebrew society was forbidden to accept the practices of pagan societies. Individuals caught committing these sins were to be stoned to death. That’s right, they were to be stoned to death.  A severe penalty for something modern society views as “just a natural act.”

Marriage was to be between a man and a woman, and sex was to be enjoyed within marriage.  Why you may ask?  The answer is simple.  It was known more than four thousand years ago that sexual abstinence, outside of marriage, prevented physical diseases and emotional/mental anguish.

When a man and a woman engage in sexual activity they become one flesh, as told in the Bible.  In other words, sexually transmitted diseases can be passed between the participants.  You’ve heard of syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia, genital herpes and AIDS just to name a few.  Some mouth cancers are now being linked to oral sex.  What about other collateral infections/diseases resulting from untreated sexually transmitted diseases?  Just think about the rapid spread of disease from individuals engaging in sexual acts with multiple sex partners?

Look at the untold emotional damage being done as a result of pregnancies being terminated through abortions. Adulterous affairs result in broken homes and innocent children are affected emotionally as a result.  A wife or husband cheats and possibly the two other deceived partners lives are almost destroyed.  Envy, pornography, child molestation, and other emotional deviations abound when nothing is view as harmful.

The list of harmful bodily results could continue but why go on.  Everyone knows.  Well, maybe not the young teenagers who only see the “fun” of sexual freedom being portrayed on TV and in the movies as the “in thing.”  They are not told of the physical and emotional harm they may experience.

Parents should be cautioning their children but they don’t.  After all, they are enjoying their own sexual promiscuity.

Yes, physical and mental health issues of sexual promiscuity were known thousands of years ago, but each generation seems to forget or think it will not happen to my family.  Continue on with your heads buried in the sand.  America has become a pagan nation and will remain a pagan nation until the time of the end.

God, the one who gave us rules to follow for our own good, does not look with favor on those who violate his teachings.  America will soon experience his wrath as we as a nation are punished for our foolishness and disobedience.  Continue on in condoning or participating in sexual promiscuity but do so at your own peril.  You have been warned!

Why are you not reading your Bible?

What about the Bible?  Do you believe it is the inspired word of God written by man through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit?  Have you ever read the Bible?

I find laughable the “read through the Bible in a year” mentality by people who call themselves Christians.  The Bible is the most important book a born again believer should be reading.  It is the guide, the road map leading you to life eternal.

People say the bible is too complicated; it is hard to understand, and etc.  Of course it is.  If you are unwilling to accept there is a God and the Bible is the Word of God for man to follow, the Bible will never make sense to you.  You need the Holy Spirit to unlock your mind to understanding.

Many Christians and even non-Christians can quote scripture and facts from the Bible but know little else.  It is just another book.  They do not know its power.

You either believe in the God of the Bible or you believe in another god or gods. You must make a choice.  What will your choice be?

Was this a flawless plan or just madness?

The plan was ingenious: neither flawed or madness!  No present day intellectual could have devised a mental health plan like it.  It is all encapsulated in the term “Grace.”

Our creator, the “I AM” of Exodus 3:14, fashioned man (I’m going to be politically incorrect and just use the term man rather than man/woman for simplicity) and gave him the free will to make his own way in a world designed for his habitat.  A Garden of Eden, if you will.

Now, our creator did not want just another animal as in a puppy dog to pet.  He would save that creation for man to enjoy.  He created man for a particular purpose and while we as yet do not know or understand that purpose it will one day be revealed.

Our creator understood the workings of man’s intellectual faculties.  After all, he designed them; even Lucifer (Satan) was one of his creations.  Our creator knew man would be capable of digressing to animalistic behavior or even worse if they were not able to manage their self-will which he endowed them with.

Knowing that man (because of man’s gift of self-will) would be capable of failing to live up to his created design, our creator provided a way for man to be forgiven of all transgressions he would commit.  He would not have to do good works, but he would have to have faith and believe in the concept of a God as his protector and provider.

So how is man doing?  Not so well.  Man has denied the existence of his creator and has refused to accept his creator’s commandments.  After all, is not the New Age movement declaring that all men are gods?  Satan also sought to be God.

In ancient times our creator gave the Hebrew people a sacrificial system of forgiveness. An animal was brought to the Priest and slain for a man’s transgressions of the law.  Those transgressions were called sins, an all-encompassing term. This system was unable to completely atone for the sinfulness of man because it had to be repeated ad infinitum.

Some ancient men also sought to make sacrifices, human sacrifices, to various gods of nature that cannot hear, talk or see: the worship of objects rather than the living creator.

When our creator was ready, he revealed his ultimate plan for man.  One sacrifice, Jesus Christ, who would take on the transgressions of all men for now and forever more, and the sacrificial sacrifices would be abandoned.  By believing on Jesus Christ, man was freed from the bondage of sin.

I know this does not make any sense to man’s “human mind.”  It is a spiritual concept or dimension to be accepted on faith, with no works involved.  You do not have to do anything to earn forgiveness.  You just have to accept the free offer of forgiveness and follow the leading of the Holy Spirit that will dwell within you.

The plan is this.  When the Spirit of God convicts you of your transgressions or sins, confess and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior; believe that he was born of a virgin, died on a cross for your transgressions, was resurrected from the grave, and will send his Holy Spirit to dwell within you; one day he will return and give you a glorified body. If you can accept and believe this, you will live forever with Jesus Christ.

By believing and accepting Jesus Christ as your savior and accepting the Holy Spirit in your life, your mental and physical conditions can be managed without alcohol, mind altering drugs, psychologists, psychiatrists and in some cases medical doctors.

Your creator provided the answers and solutions, all you have to do is believe and receive.  Apparently this is too simple a process for man, who would prefer doing good deeds or performing good works, rather than accepting his creator’s way of redemption.  What a pity.  How about you?

Will you accept your creator’s Grace?  Ask him now if your spirit is leading you.
